The awards attracted a record number of entries and the competition was very tough. It is a great achievement to be on the shortlist so congratulations to all the finalists.

The awards ceremony took place at Shakespeare's Underglobe in London, superbly hosted by Paul Bradley, the actor known for his role as Elliot Hope in Holby City, who injected humour and warmth into the proceedings.

The BJN Awards acknowledge the enormous contribution individual nurses make towards the development of the profession as a whole. Professional awards such as these, shine a light where it is most deserved and also raise the profile and understanding of how nursing is at the centre of all patient care.
